STAGE 2 WATER RESTRICTION ALERT

The City of Tuttle is now under Stage 2 Water Restriction. This includes all restrictions from Stage 1 and Stage 2, as listed below. Click the link at the bottom of this page for the full text of the Restriction Guide.

During times of drought, and/or dependent upon the conditions of the municipal water supply as specified within the Tuttle Code of Ordinances, additional water conservation measures may take effect in accordance with condition severity. These include the following:

**Stage 1 Restrictions (Water Supply Watch)**
Trigger – Supplemental municipal water is purchased from any outside source.
• Limits outdoor watering with sprinklers or irrigation systems to twice per week.
(Odd address allowed to water on (2) odd numbered day per week. Even
addresses allowed to water on (2) even number day per week.
• Watering may only be performed prior to 10am and after 7pm.
• Prohibits washing or hosing off impervious areas such as paved or concrete
driveways and sidewalks, buildings and windows.
• Draining and re-filling of swimming pools prohibited.
• Limits private vehicle washing to the use of a bucket or a hose with a turnoff
valve.
• Bulk water sales will be suspended. (All current purchasers will be notified.)
• Hydrant flow meter rentals will be suspended. (All current customers will be
notified to immediately suspend operations.)
• Bulk water sales for the purpose of dust control will be prohibited.
• Discontinue the irrigation of all publicly maintained facilities. (Parks, Cemetery,
etc.)
Exceptions:
• Foundations and/or newly installed shrubs and trees may be watered up to two
hours any day by handheld hose, soaker hose or drip irrigation.
• Establishing new turf is discouraged. If new hydro mulch, grass sod, or grass
seed is installed for the purpose of establishing a new lawn, a variance to the
watering restrictions can be granted for the first 30 days while it is being
established. After that, the watering restrictions set forth in this stage apply.
• Odd/Even watering restrictions do not apply to locations using well water or
treated wastewater effluent for irrigation.
• The use of commercial car washing is allowed.
• Washing private vehicles from private well source is allowed.

**Stage 2 Restrictions (Water Supply Warning) **
(All restrictions from Stage 1 remain in effect.)
Trigger – Water tower levels at or below 80% and trending downward.
Note: Water tower levels are directly proportional to system water pressure.
• Limits outdoor watering with sprinklers or irrigation systems to one day per week.
(Odd address allowed to water on (1) odd numbered day per week. Even
addresses allowed to water on (1) even number day per week.
• Prohibits filling swimming pools with automatic fill valves.
• Prohibits the operation of ornamental fountains or ponds that use potable water,
except where necessary to support aquatic life, or where such fountains or ponds
are equipped with a recirculation system.
• Encourages all users to wait until the current drought or emergency situation has
passed before installing and establishing new landscape plants.
Exceptions:
• Once per week watering restrictions do not apply to locations using well water or
treated wastewater effluent for irrigation.
• Foundations and/or newly installed shrubs and trees may be watered up to two
hours any day by handheld hose, soaker hose or drip irrigation.
• Commercial car washing is allowed.
• Watering gardens with handheld hose is allowed prior to 10am and after 7pm.
